  1. Forgot to say…I’m from Swansea valley. 🙂

  2. Hi Kelly,
I intended to write to you to suggest ways to blog, but now see that you’re well established on the blogging front.
I too have a blog, which I created to log my first attempts at writing a novel. I’m really new to all this and I can see that my first draft chapters are pretty poor when I revisit them. I struggle with the ‘show don’t tell’ bit and writing passages from a single point of view…but I’ll get there.
I’ve set myself the crazy target of writing the whole first draft by my fiftieth birthday at the end of November. No reason for this other than to focus the work towards a deadline. I’ve got about 65,000 words done so far, with about 40,000 of those making sense, if still poorly writen.
Anyway, I wrote with the intention of sneding you details of the wordpress blogs but ended up spouting about myself…typical.
Good luck with your blog and well done.

    • Hello Nigel
Thanks for thinking I am a well established blogger. In fact I am new to all this just like yourself. Actually started for the first time in September this year. Your blog page looks great and I intend to have a read of your chapters. The first draft of your novel doesn’t need to be perfect, it is when you get to the revision stage that is the most exciting. Have you read Stephen King’s on writing. The second part of this book is the best part and tells you how Stephen King writes. I have learnt a lot from him.
I am glad that you did go off track in your message and ‘SPOUTED’ about yourself. I like getting to know otrher writer’s like yourself. Please stay in touch and good luck with your novel.
